Tile calculator FAQ
How much wastage should I add when ordering tiles?
For straight-set tiles add 10% on top of the room area. For diagonal-set or herringbone patterns add 15%. For large-format slabs (above 600×1200mm) add 12% — fewer cuts but more risk if one slab breaks. Always order at least one extra full box for future repairs; dye-lot matching across batches is unreliable.
How many tiles come in a box?
It varies by format. A standard 600×600 box holds 4 tiles covering 1.44 m². 300×600 boxes typically cover 1.44 m² (8 tiles). 1200×1200 slabs are usually sold as 2 per box = 2.88 m². Each Marmoré product page lists the exact per-box square metres so the calculator rounds up correctly.
Do I need to account for grout lines in the calculation?
No — tile coverage figures already assume standard 2–3mm grout joints. The figure to focus on is the per-box m² (the manufacturer's stated coverage), not the raw tile face area. Our calculator uses the per-box coverage so the result is what you actually need to order.
What's the delivery cost on tile orders to Australian addresses?
Pallet freight to Sydney and Melbourne metro starts at $290 for orders under 50 m². Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart range $420–$680. Regional NSW/VIC/QLD is $580–$900 depending on access. Full pricing is quoted at checkout once we have your postcode and quantity.
How long until my tiles arrive after I order?
In-stock tiles dispatch from our Melbourne warehouse within 2 business days. Metro delivery is typically 3–5 business days from dispatch. Regional 5–10 business days. Tiles on extended lead are 6–10 weeks via consolidated container from Italy or Spain — we tell you the lead time on the product page before you order.
