Specifying for NDIS home mods

Slip rating requirements. NDIS home modifications follow AS 1428.1 (Design for Access and Mobility) and AS 4586 (Slip Resistance). Wet area floor tiles require P4 minimum. Ramp surfaces and step nosings require P5. Tactile ground surface indicators (TGSI) must comply with AS 1428.1 — our GNS Tactile Plus range meets this standard.

What builders specify. NDIS-registered home modification builders typically spec: non-slip floor tiles for wet rooms (P4/P5), step treads for level-change areas, and TGSIs at ramp tops and hazard locations. All three are stocked at Marmoré.

Threshold tiles. Step-free shower entry and accessible wet room configurations often need a threshold or rebate tile. Talk to us about matching the floor tile to a flush-entry solution.

NDIS tile questions

What slip rating do tiles need for NDIS home modifications?

Wet area floor tiles (shower floors, accessible bathrooms) require P4 minimum under AS 1428.1 and AS 4586. Ramp surfaces and step nosings require P5. Tactile ground surface indicators must comply with AS 1428.1 in size, colour contrast, and location.

What are tactile ground surface indicators (TGSIs) used for in NDIS builds?

TGSIs are the raised-dot warning tiles and directional-bar tiles used at ramp tops, hazard edges, and accessible path junctions. They're mandated under AS 1428.1 for all new accessible builds and many NDIS home modification scopes. We stock GNS Tactile Plus in graphite, white, and safety yellow — all 300×300mm, AS 1428.1 compliant.

Can I use Marmoré tiles in an NDIS funding claim?

Yes. Our NDIS Quote Pack PDF lists all P4/P5 tiles with item codes, slip ratings, sizes, and GST-inclusive prices — formatted so you can attach it to an NDIA funding claim or place it on your company letterhead. We can also supply AS 4586 test certificates for any tile on request.

Do you offer trade pricing for NDIS builders?

Yes. NDIS-registered home modification builders can apply for a Marmoré trade account and access tiered pricing on project quantities. Contact trade@marmoretilestudio.com with your ABN and licence number.
